Zinfra Enterprise Agreement

All members are invited to participate in Thursday`s sessions to give their opinion before voting on the agreement. As you know, Zinfra has reached an agreement on former employees in Yemen and he will be meeting with employees this week to discuss it. The following enterprise agreements apply to NTPS employees: the following location allowances apply from 1 October 2020 as part of the ETU operating agreements (EBA). Negotiations on enterprise agreements within the NTPS take place between the Commissioner of Public Employment, NTPS agencies and employee representatives, usually trade unions. Management has suggested that this is now an enterprise agreement that provides for all levels of compensation and provides all benefits and claims, without the need for separate agreements, which are supported by the EA. We see this as a positive step and look forward to returning to the negotiating table. Enterprise agreements are written agreements under the Fair Work Act 2009 (Cth). They contain employment policy terms negotiated as part of the business bargaining process and apply to certain categories of workers. It should be noted that there is no change in the existing commercial terms of members, the agreement retains existing rights and confers additional salary increases as of December 31, 2019. It will reach its nominal expiration date at the end of this year.

The aim was to ensure the wage increases for former Yemeni employees beyond 31 December and to reconcile the expiry date of the agreement with Zinfra`s staff contract, which has already been adopted by staff. Negotiations for a new agreement on both former Yemeni workers and staff covered by the Zinfra staff agreement will begin in a few weeks, in April of this year. This position was voted on by members at the end of last year and forwarded to Zinfra as a position agreed in principle by AsU and Professionals Australia members. In addition to the agreement, Zinfra has made available to the ASU companies that increase availability rates and also provide for workers who can be hired after the approval of the agreement, but that the new agreement is concluded for all staff.
